STIAA holds 2nd annual bowling tourney
 Article date : Tuesday, May 25, 2004

Players
Fun, friendship and competition marked the STI Alumni Association’s 2nd annual bowling tournament held at E-Lanes at Greenhills, San Juan. As expected, STIers have strutted “pro-like” ball throws that sent the games in close fights among the eight participating teams. Alumni from STI Metro Manila branches namely Cubao, Fairview, Las Piñas, Makati, Novaliches, Quezon Avenue, Taft, and Parañaque slugged it out in a three-game tourney. STI Paranaque fashioned out a dramatic breakaway from neck-to-neck position with STI Cubao towards the end part of the competition chipping in the highest score for the championship title. STI Cubao which led in most part of the tournament found its seat in second place as it fell short of xxx points while STI Taft settled for third place. “It was a very close game and we’re very glad we did some big shots towards the end game. We had a slow start but got our games going at the right time. We aimed to be the best and we did it with our fighting spirit!” exclaimed xxxx, STI Parañaque’s team captain. The champion team took home PhP 5,000 in cash and individual trophies. STI Cubao on the other end graciously accepted the runner up title with PhP 3,000.00 and individual trophies. “We lost to the better team but we gave them a good fight. We had fun and that’s what is important,” noted xxxxx. STIAA executive director Babes Bonoan expressed satisfaction on the turn out of the event. “We’re glad that our alumni are actively participating to this kind of activity. We had a good number of participants and this is an indication of a solid, bonded and growing family. We hope that it is going to be a bigger tournament next year, ” said Bonoan.
