STIAA Prepares for Big Christmas Treat
 Article date : Friday, November 18, 2005

Hundreds of underprivileged kids in Metro Manila are set for a big Christmas treat with STI Alumni Association’s upcoming outreach program.  STIAA is all geared up to minister a whole day of fun, prizes and surprises for the street children under the care of a chosen charitable institution.

In line with its gift-giving tradition, the Association is inviting all alumni to take part in this endeavor by donating old clothes, shoes, books and toys to be distributed to the children.  Cash and other forms of donations will also be accepted by STIAA.

“We hope that our alumni can actively participate in this give-for-a-cause activity by sharing some of their blessings to the underprivileged ones.  Their generosity will definitely go a long way and will surely bring big smiles to the kids,” said STIAA Chair Maggie Rillera.

The lady at the helm of STIAA reiterated that the outreach program is one of the Association’s priority projects.  STIAA has always put value on community service because it believes that the outreach program is one way of fulfilling one of STIAA’s agenda of looking after the welfare of society.

Last year, STIAA distributed goods to kids of Gawad Kalinga. A puppet show and games were also held for added fun and entertainment.

Ms. Rillera added that the Association is targeting to conduct a bigger outreach program this year.  STIAA hopes to give out more gifts and fun to more street kids of Metro Manila.

STI Alumni can send their donations directly to the STIAA headquarters at Philfirst Building, 6764 Ayala Avenue, Makati City or to any STI schools and colleges. Members can also join the outreach program tentatively scheduled on December 16, 2005.  Interested parties may contact STIAA at 810-8100 and look for Marie Nucum or email alumni@stihq.net .
