STI’s commemoration of its 25th Anniversary, held last August 29, was truly a shining moment for the entire STI network. With the banner Celebrating Silver: Bigger and Better at 25, STIers nationwide shared the humble beginnings and milestones of the institution.

The crowd was definitely bigger with an overwhelming attendance of almost 15,000 students from various STI campuses in the country. The event was certainly better with jam-packed activities simultaneously taking place in four venues at the heart of Manila – Star Theater, Aliw Theater , The Forum I in PICC and Star City Theme Park.

The whole day was a culmination of activities conducted nationwide. After the grueling local and regional level competitions, the best of the best from different STI campuses converged for the national level competitions of the Tagisan ng Talino 2008 and Talent Search 2008 held at the Star Theater and Aliw Theater. At The Forum I in PICC, STI alumni, faculty, staff and students graced the STI Exhibit where they all reminisced the history, memorabilia and milestones of STI. In the same venue, graduating STIers took the opportunity to seek employment in the STI Job Fair.

Tagisan ng Talino national competitions for the Hotel and Restaurant Management activities followed on August 22 at STI College-Caloocan and the team co-curricular activities took place at the College of Saint Benilde, Manila on August 27.

STI has also capped this special occasion with the launch of the Save Out-Of-School Youth (SOS Youth) advocacy. This advocacy aims to empower the youth by giving them the opportunity to give back to society. More than 20,000 STI student volunteers nationwide will raise funds from their community for the transportation and meal allowance of selected out-of-school youths. In return, STI will provide 100% scholarship grants for any two-year program at STI campuses nationwide.
