  STI onboard
 Article date : Thursday, June 25, 2009

STI and Negros Navigation Company (NENACO) Inc. recently sealed a partnership that focuses on the growing industries of hospitality, tourism and shipping. The partnership involves the Vessel Immersion Program (VIP) of the NENACO.

The VIP is an onboard hands-on training program integrated with seminars and workshops including training for Food and Beverage Procedure, Housekeeping, Event Planning and Travel and Tour Guiding.

Consequently, STI will identify and send qualified students to go aboard NENACO’s vessels during the period of the training course. The VIP will be embedded in the On- the-Job-Training programs that will be beneficial to STI students inclined towards the hospitality, travel, and tourism programs.

STI students who have successfully complied with the VIP will receive certification from the Association of Administrators in Hospitality, Hotel and Restaurant Educational Institutions (AAHRMEI) and Union of Filipino Tourism Educators (UFTE).
